Home Alone dad, John Heard dies aged 72
US actor John Heard, who made appearances in the Home Alone films and The Sopranos, has died at the age of 72.
Media reports suggest Heard was found in a hotel room in Palo Alto, California.The father of two was reportedly recovering from minor back surgery.
Details of the cause of death are yet to be released.
The actor's career in Hollywood has spanned over 40 years - with roles in Gladiator, Cutter's Way and most notable his character as Peter McCallister in the 90s film, Home Alone.
In 1999, he received a nomination for an Emmy Award for appearing in hit crime drama, The Sopranos.
