Hillcrest crash leaves one dead, five injured
A crash between 2 vehicles in the Hillcrest area has resulted in the death of one and multiple injuries to others this morning.
The incident involved a small car and a light delivery vehicle and happened along Inanda Road near Crinkly bottom in Waterfall.
Emergency services responded and found carnage at the scene with medics springing into action to try save the lives of the occupants.
Garrith Jamieson of Advanced Life Support Paramedics says unfortunately a man who had been in the car succumbed to his injuries.
"Unfortunately one person in the light motor vehicle, a man believed to be in his fourties, sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him and was declared ' dead on scene' ", he said.
"A further five occupants sustaining injuries ranging from minor to serious were stabilized and transported together by Meditech ambulance services as well KZN VIP to nearby hospitals", Jamieson said.
