Police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says the body was discovered near a road between Sabie and Nelspruit.
"This morning, we received a call from community members who discovered the body in the bushes. Upon arrival, police discovered the body, which had bruises on the head and the family was called to identify her. The motive for the killing is unknown.
"Forensic detectives have been called to the scene and investigations will indicate if there are other bruises on her body.
"However, at the moment, we have grounds to say this is a murder case we are investigating. She was still wearing the same clothes."
