High traffic volumes expected as holidaymakers return home

KwaZulu-Natal motorists are being warned to expect higher than usual traffic volumes on Monday as holidaymakers start heading back home.
ccording to the N3 Toll Concession, as many as 2 000 vehicles are expected to leave the province every hour from midday and travel towards Gauteng.
Schools are preparing to reopen for the second term on Wednesday.
The Concession's Thania Dhoogra says traffic volumes are expected to pick from around lunchtime - adding that the N3 will remain busy until tomorrow.
"Road users are advised to plan ahead for possible congestion and delays along the route as a result of the high volumes.
"All lanes will be open to traffic and plazas will be operating at maximin capacity and road incident partners are on high alert and are maintaining a high visibility presence."
