Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Mondli Gungubele says the national analogue TV switch-off will occur in two steps.
"Immediately switch off analogue services above the 694MHz band to release spectrum for other telecommunications use, and the set date for this step is the 31st of July 2023.

Gungubele was briefing the media on Wednesday on the government's broadcast digital migration programme.
The deadline to finalise the plan changed several times in the past decade.
"Step two: Temporarily accommodate some of the high population areas below 694MHz, and switch off within a given period, and the set date for this step is the 31st of December 2024."
