Group granted bail for tender corruption at Kokstad Municipality

The case against four people linked to a dodgy tender at Kokstad Municipality has been postponed until November 30.
Stanslous Dondo, Rita Magunda, Siyakwethemba Mbuthuma, and Bandisa Jiba have been charged with money laundering and corruption in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Hawks officials say the municipality appointed two service providers to build a community hall in the Qhingalendela area in 2020.

Former executive infrastructure manager Dondo is accused of demanding a bribe of around R180 000 from the service provider to fast-track payments.
It's alleged that R60,000 was paid through his wife, Rita Magunda.
The matter was reported to the Municipal Manager, who alerted the police.
The group is out on bail.
