The case against a former SANDF soldier, accused of killing his wife with hand grenades, will no longer be heard in court.
It's emerged the 44-year-old suspect has died.
Joel Mahoase, a former kernal in the SA Air Force and MK, was due to appear in the Durban High Court yesterday.
He faced charges of murder, attempted murder and the unlawful possession of explosives. The NPA's Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says the matter will not proceed.
"The matter was set down for an appearance in the High Court yesterday. However, the prosecutor presented a death certificate to the court advising the court that the accused has now passed away," she says.
Mahoase was accused of throwing two hand grenades at his wife Lesego - in the kitchen of their Karridene Road home after an argument.
