Govt assisting family of SA woman murdered in US

The government says it is assisting the family of the South African woman who was murdered in the United States.

Kim White, originally from Cape Town, was killed last month in West Virginia.
White was allegedly killed during a suspected incident of domestic violence.
On Tuesday, the International Relations and Cooperation Department said its embassy in Washington, D.C., is providing full consular assistance to the family.

"The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, has extended condolences to the bereaved family during this profoundly difficult time.
"The circumstances surrounding this tragic death remain under active investigation by the relevant United States authorities.
"Out of respect for the ongoing investigative process, the sensitivity of the matter, and the privacy of the grieving family, we will not be providing further detailed commentary at this time."
