The matter against Garth Simpson has been heard in the Glencoe Magistrate's Court.

It's alleged Simpson gunned down 17-year-old Qiniso Dlamini on his Glencoe farm, last month, accusing the teen of trespassing.

The Grade 11 pupil was herding his family's cattle and had gone into the property to collect animals that wandered off.

The National Prosecution Authority’s KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara says 68-year-old Simpson faces charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

"The matter was remanded to 21 October 2021 for judgment on the bail application."
