Frustration over delays in appointment of Nquthu Municipality council
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
The Co-operative Governance Department is urging political parties in the Nquthu Municipality in northern KZN to put the people of that area first.

The council is expected to meet for a sixth time tomorrow - with the hopes of electing office-bearers.
Nquthu was one of the hung municipalities following the August local government elections, and political squabbles have delayed the voting process.

Spokesperson Lennox Mabaso says despite the council having so far failed to elect office-bearers - service delivery has not been affected.
"The responses we have given to the disaster areas that were affected, the unlocking of the electrification process that was almost grounded to a halt but now they are back on track. As well as the other interventions such as drought and water initiatives that are currently going on," he said.
