Four suspected hitmen shot dead in Sydenham

Police have shot and killed four suspected hitmen during a gun battle in Sydenham in Durban.

It's believed they were also behind a series of cash-in-transit heists.
A fifth suspect has been wounded and is being treated by paramedics.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says gunfire rang out on Moses Kotane Road on Wednesday.

"Paramedics can confirm that four people have been declared deceased on the scene and a fifth is a short while away being attended too by paramedics.
"This is an active crime scene. Sparks Road has been closed off in both directions from after Randles Road up until Locksley Drive."
