The body of a six-year-old boy has been pulled from a shallow pond in the Waterfall area, west of Durban.
The child's body was recovered on Tuesday morning by Metro Police Search and Rescue divers after he drowned on Monday.
It is understood the little boy was playing when he got into difficulty in the water. His body has been handed over to the Hillcrest police.
Meanwhile, authorities have also recovered the badly decomposed body of a man that was found in the Tugela River in Mandeni late on Monday night.
KwaZulu-Natal police have opened an inquest docket.
In the Western Cape, rescue teams will continue with their search for the body of an 18-year-old male beachgoer, who is presumed to have drowned while swimming with friends at Rocklands Beach.
It is understood four youths got into difficulty in the water on Sunday.
Surfers were able to bring a 15-year-old boy to shore, but he was declared dead on the scene.
The National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says the bodies of a boy and girl were recovered on Monday.
"The police dive unit located and recovered the body of the 16-year-old male and his family have had a chance to pay their respects. A search is continuing for the 18-year-old male that remains missing," he said.
