Former top officer, Vincent Mdunge begins serving sentence

Former KZN police spokesperson, Vincent Mdunge has begun serving his prison term after failing to appeal his conviction and sentence.

KZN Correctional Service's Spokesperson, Thulani Mdhuli says Mdunge handed himself over to police last week.
Mdhuli says Mdunge is currently serving his sentence at the Westville prison.
Mdunge was convicted in 2014 of fraud and forgery.

The Durban Regional Court found he'd presented a fake matric certificate to gain promotion within the police force and entry to further his studies at UNISA.
In June, the Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed his application to appeal his conviction and five-year sentence.
