Five men accused of killing Kiernan 'AKA'
Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane have made their first appearance in the
high court in Durban, just over two years after the fatal shots were fired
outside a Florida Road restaurant.

During Thursday morning’s brief proceedings, the court heard that Advocate Cyril Mlotshwa would now represent all five accused.
Mlotshwa, who is the former acting director of public prosecutions in KZN, was not in court on Thursday.
The court heard that Mlotshwa is currently in eSwatini, representing the Ndimande brothers.
They are the remaining two accused in this case, who have been fighting an order to have them extradited back to South Africa, to join their five co-accused.

The brothers appealed a ruling to bring them back home in August last year, but state prosecutors in the neighbouring country argued that the application was null and void as they believed it was not filed on time.
eSwatini’s high court did not agree with them, so prosecutors took the case to the Supreme Court of Appeal on Thursday.
The matter has been postponed to the 12th of June for Pre-trial. The court heard that Adv Cyril Mlotshwa will now represent all of the accused but he’s currently in eSwatini dealing with an appeal at the SCA regarding the Ndimande brothers extradition. pic.twitter.com/xX64poJSKl

The state and defence attorneys agreed to deal with pre-trial issues in June.
Detectives believe the seven conspired and carried out a plan to assassinate Forbes, allegedly sharing an R800,000 payout.
