Ganzamungu Zihindula, from the SA Refugee-Led Network in KZN, says he doesn't want anyone to be harmed.

"We want to alert our community members because we don't want them to be affected or harmed."

A poster shared on social media says Operation Dudula's planning on holding a meeting in central Durban on Sunday.

The movement gained momentum last year following efforts to clean up parts of Gauteng, but its controversial stance on foreign nationals has come under the spotlight.

It says it's against the employment of illegal foreign nationals.

Zihindula says they will not counteract their movement by fighting.

"We will try to meet with their leaders to find out how can this work in a peaceful way.

On Wednesday tensions simmered in Dobsonville, Soweto, as EFF members faced off with supporters of Operation Dudula.

A resident went to the police station to open a criminal case against activist Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini for allegedly breaking and entering his home when the movement's members ransacked his property in search of drugs.
