Both parties will come face to face again for mediated talks on Wednesday.

The work stoppage by some pilots began on Monday, disrupting operations.

Newswatch spoke to some affected passengers at King Shaka International Airport.

Nompebelelo Booi says she was told to come to the airport early after her flight to Cape Town was suspended on Monday.

She says she managed to get a new flight after spending more than five on a waiting list,  but others weren't so lucky.

"We found three seats on this flight that is earlier than hours. It was only for three people."

Ryan Gopaul says his brother's been affected.

"My brother's flights were cancelled, He was meant to fly on Wednesday and his flights were pushed to Friday."

Margie Venter say while her flight wasn't delayed, she'd hate to see the strike affect more passengers.

"It would make a massive difference on our lives, we have to get back to work, kids have to get back to school so it's been very distressing and disruptive."

Solidarity believes the airline's only agreed to participate in mediation after mounting pressure of a potential two-week strike.
