Firefighters dampening hotspots at Pinetown supermarket fire

Firefighters are still at the Pinetown supermarket which caught alight yesterday.
They've been busy putting out small fires.
The blaze at the building on Josiah Gumede Road - started in the morning.
It had appeared the crews had it under control by noon - but it flared up again in the afternoon.
This morning, firefighters returned to the supermarket where they are monitoring hotspots.
Pinetown Division Commander - Neren Birgelall was on the scene yesterday and this morning.

"We responded to the fire with four vehicles, two hydraulic platforms and four water carriers. we fought this fire until the early hours of the morning, and throughout the day. It kept on spreading sporadically because of the intensive heat. So we worked most of the day. And the fire continued to burn today," he said.
Birgelall says there will be a probe into the cause of the fire.
"There is a forensic investigation that will have to take place to see where it started or if there are any suspicions of foul play. We don't know anything yet as an investigation is yet to begin."
