members in Umlazi U Section say they fear for their lives after eight people
were gunned down in a mass murder.

The group had been drinking at a tavern at an informal settlement on Friday, when they came under attack.
The community policing forum’s Siyanda Biyela visited the scene on Saturday.
He said one of the victims was a member of the CPF.
"Not anyone wanted to talk because they're scared. Some people are picking eyes to see if you say something or want to say something, then you the next target," said Biyela.

"So, it shows that there is a syndicate that is working [tirelessly] in these areas to keep people quiet."
Biyela said the killing of CPF members is concerning.
"Being a CPF member from the past seven months brings about a target in your back.
"We are calling on as the Minister of Police and all MEC's in the province to sit down and let's look into a policy where we can assist in keeping safe our members of the CPF's, as they assist the SAPS."
Police have launched a murder investigation.
