The family of the IFP ward councillor who was killed in northern KZN several day ago say they're still searching for answers about the murder.
Thirty-year-old Khayelihle Sithole was gunned down on Thursday, along with community member Senzo Ngubane.
The two had been attending a mayoral event in Sithole's ward in Msinga, when gunmen opened fire on them in full view of the public.
Sithole was elected as ward coucillor in 2016.
Family spokesperson, Gcinile Ma-Ngubane Mkhize says even if they find the killers it won't bring Sithole back.
She says they don't know why the ward councillor was targeted.

IFP KZN provincial chairperson Thami Ntuli says he does not have faith the police will apprehend the assailants.
He said, the party "is extremely worried at the continued killings of political office bearers in the province of KwaZulu-Natal; which generally go by unresolved."
Meanwhile, Cooperative Governance officials have called on the police to make swift arrests following the murder.
Cogta spokesperson Senzo Mzila says the murder has come as a shock to the MEC. He says the father-of-one served the community in his ward for four years.
