eThekwini shuts Wiggins outflows ‘to avert collapse’

  Officials say high demand has put pressure on the plant, and they are working with bulk water supplier uMngeni-uThukela Water to find a lasting solution.

The city says the move will help replenish storage levels at reservoirs.  

In the meantime, residents have warned of supply interruptions during the recovery period. Areas in Central and South of Durban will be affected.
