Energy Minister , Mmamoloko Kubayi, says Eskom must ensure contracts are ready for signing by 28 October.

"The IPP office is to engage with all affected parties - to renegotiate the tariff price as we are informed in terms of the current environment, economic climate environment and as well as affordability. The current prices are unaffordable for Eskom," she says.

Kubaya however refused to comment on Eskom's payments and business relations related to Gupta-linked Trillian.

"We will allow Minister Brown to deal with the matter," she adds.
