EFF to table no-confidence motion in Mapisa-Nqakula

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says the party will be tabling a no-confidence motion in National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.

The red berets were booted out of Cape Town City Hall on Thursday night after they attempted to prevent the president from delivering his State of the Nation Address.


Some of them charged the stage where Cyril Ramaphosa was sitting as he waited to start his speech.

At a briefing on Friday, Malema said Mapisa-Nqakula had declared herself as an enemy of the EFF.


"She is the most impatient Speaker and most irresponsible Speaker. Those police can come in when there is danger to life and a serious disruption that is a threat to life or damage to property."

"None of the things that she read at the end existed when the security forces entered Parliament. So she knew that those people were out of line and she had to do something to try and cure that abnormality that occurred in Parliament."
