EFF makes first funding declaration to IEC

The Independent Electoral Commission’s latest party political funding report has seen 11 political parties declare more than R46 million in the third quarter of 2021.
The latest report, released on Tuesday, is the penultimate report for the 2021/2022 financial year.
The EFF has made its first declaration since the enactment of the Political Party Funding Act.
The Red Berets received some R3 million, while the ANC declared close to R23 million and the DA declared some 13 million.

The ANC received the largest amount of a single monetary donation of R15 million from the Batho Batho Trust.
Meanwhile, newly formed party Action SA declared the largest amount of in kind donations in the form of personal protective equipment.
"Of this amount, a total of R4 212 340.50 was made by a single donor in the form of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) comprising face masks, hand sanitisers, face shields, etc. In this regard, face masks accounted for the largest proportion of the value of in-kind donations, totalling R 3 000 000."
