WATCH: DUT SRC refuses to back down from protest action

The SRC at the Durban University of Technology says mass action on campus will continue until their demands are met.
A few hundred students have gathered at the Steve Biko, Ritson and City campuses on their first day back from vacation.
SRC president, Zama Mncube, says the demonstration is only partially linked to the national fees protests.

Mncube says they have their own grievances that have been raised with management on several occasions.
"The issue of historical debt: we met with the NSFAS people towards the end of last year, and it was promised to us - together with the management of the institution - that outstanding fees are going to be paid. Yet there are people who haven't yet received their qualifications, [because] their fees are not yet paid," she said.
