DUT SRC awaiting feedback on unpaid student allowances
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Students from the Durban University of Technology are hoping to find out when they'll receive their food and book allowances.
"We are hoping to get clear feedback as to when students are going to receive their final book allowances. Tests are due to be written. We can't accept that - they haven't even received their book allowances," The SRC's Lesley Ngazire said.
Ngazire says they're hoping to receive feedback from NSFAS on when the S-Bux payments will be released to more than 6000 students.
They don't have the textbooks they need to study for tests later this month. They were supposed to receive their allowances in January.
At the time, NSFAS said it needed more time to allocate the funds.
