Mhlongo says it's believed the men were waiting for a phone call from the wife to kill her 54-year-old husband.

"It is alleged that the 25-year-old hired two men to assassinate her husband. Apparently, the information was received and the Harks members together with Ntuzima SAPS, as well as K9 foiled the [murder] plot. The suspects were all arrested and charged," he said.

Meanwhile, three suspects facing charges of murder will appear in court today after a man was shot and killed in the Msiyane area. in Ngwavuma. One of the suspects, the wife of the victim, was arrested after Hawks members received information concerning an alleged murder plot.
