A Durban man accused of rape will be back in court next week.
He allegedly threatened and raped a woman he'd offered help to.
Police say the 26-year-old woman found herself stranded in the Durban CBD after an ATM swallowed her bank card last August.
The 54-year-old suspect is said to have offered her a lift home to Umlazi.
The woman apparently questioned the man when she noticed he was taking a different route.
He allegedly claimed his car had problems and told the woman he needed to go to his house in Umbilo to change cars.
The man was arrested in the early hours of yesterday - eight months after the alleged attack.
