Durban pupil killed in stabbing incident

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death, allegedly by a fellow pupil.
The KZN Department of Education's Kwazi Mthethwa, confirmed hat a pupil was fatally stabbed yesterday afternoon.
"As the Department of Education in KwaZulu Natal, we can confirm that a learner from Newlands East Secondary School has passed away after he was stabbed to death by a fellow learner. Two boys were arrested immediately for further investigation.

"We send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire school. We will be following the matter and work closely with the Department of Police to ensure this doesn't happen in future," he said.
Police say two suspects aged 21 and 18 - were arrested shortly thereafter.
Spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the teenager was attacked off the school's property.
"They are due to appear in court soon. One of the suspects is also a learner," she said.
