Durban intern’s family ‘in dark’ about his death
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The family of a Durban medical intern who died after allegedly being forced to work while ill, says they've been left in the dark about the investigation into his death.

This comes after management at Prince Mshiyeni Hospital found insufficient evidence linking a senior doctor to the death of Alulutho Mazwi in May.
It's alleged Dr Mazwi had been asked to continue working, despite having told a supervisor that he wasn't feeling well.
His uncle, Vumani Mazwi, says the family only learnt about the hospital's investigation and its outcome through media reports.
“ I thought we would be informed, or even though we're not okay with it, we are not comfortable with the way it has been handled. We thought we were to be informed now for us to see it in the social media, so were never formally advised.

“As a family, were never even informed about the memorial service that took place at the Prince Mshiyeni Hospital.
“So we've been in the dark. There's nothing I received, anything official, from either from the hospital or from the Department of Health of KZN.”
