The Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court has postponed his case until then for formal bail application.

His appearance follows a long wait by the media, supporters of the alleged victims and members of the Jesus Dominion International Church.

His attorney, Alwyn Griebenow told the court that his arrest was premature as the state was not in a position to verify his personal circumstances.

The state also said it was not in the position to go ahead with the bail hearing but Griebenow said the bail application was urgent and asked that it be heard next week.
