DTI says it's aware of constraints to local manufacturing industry

This is in a bid to make it easier for others to operate.
Concerns have been raised at the Manufacturing Indaba taking place in Durban today, about access to the manufacturing industry as larger organisations dominate the space.
Chief Director for African Industrial Development in the Department Nigel Gwynne-Evans, says they've been working on removing some of the obstacles that some businesspeople have been encountering.
"I think red tape is a very significant issue in South Africa as it is in the rest of Africa. As the DTI we have different units focused on specific sectors.
"We focused on working with those sectors to try and highlight what the major constraints are to business and to how we can unblock those," he said.
