Driver flung from vehicle on Durban's M4
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
A motorist is fighting for his life in hospital after being flung from his vehicle along the M4 freeway in the vicinity of Durban North last night.
Two other people who had been travelling in the vehicle escaped with only minor injuries.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the vehicle veered off the freeway and overturned near Swapo Road, that is the Old Broadway off-ramp.
''The patients were treated on the scene while the driver was placed on a ventilator.
''Two Advanced Life Support paramedics worked on the scene for quite some time to stabilise them and then transported them through to a specialised hospital in Durban where they are receiving further care at the moment,'' he said.
