Driver crushed by construction vehicle in Wyebank

A man has been airlifted to a Durban hospital
after being crushed by heavy machinery.
He had been working at a construction site in Wyebank, west of the city.
Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst says the man had been driving a construction vehicle on Wednesday when he lost control while going up an embankment resulting in a rollover.

“The patient, an adult male sustained serious injuries when the heavy machinery rolled over him crushing him in the process.
“The patient was treated on scene by emergency care practitioners while a Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance stood by.
“Once stabilised the patient was flown to a specialist facility for the care he required.”
