Don Mkhwanazi described as an asset to KZN and SA

KZN Premier Willies Mchunu says prominent businessman, Don Mkhwanazi, who passed away of a heart attack yesterday was an asset not only in KZN but to the whole country.

Mkhwanazi, who has been described as a pioneer of black industrialists, worked with the KZN government as a board member of Agriculture Development Agency and also served on the province's Economic Council and BBBEE Advisory Council.
Spokesperson for the Premier, Ndabezinhle Sibiya, says Mchunu and Mkhwanazi grew up in Chesterville where they both fought for the development of Chesterville and Cato Manor.
"He (Mkhwanazi) was always available to guide the KZN provincial government and we will miss him," he said.
"The Premier has conveyed his messages to his family, friends and relatives as well as all those who worked with him over the years," Sibiya said.
In a press statement released yesterday Mchunu said he would remember Mkhwanazi as a brother, a friend and a community activist.
