The Department of Human Settlements in KwaZulu-Natal says its teams are monitoring disaster-prone areas in the wake of recent weather alerts.

A level 2 warning was issued for areas along the coast on Wednesday.
Forecasters urged people between Port Edward and Kosi Bay to be cautious of damaging winds and waves.
The South African Weather Service says conditions were likely to disrupt activities along the beach and at ports and harbours.
Durban is experiencing a fresh south-westerly breeze of 33 km per hour, with gusts of more than 50 km per hour.
The department's Ndabezinhle Sibiya says they're anticipating a dip in temperatures as well.
"We are going to be in various parts of the province to ensure that we do not experience any disasters during these days. We have been informed that in the Midlands we are likely to have snowfall."
Meanwhile, Sibiya says it could take months before the DNA results of a woman who died in a fire at the Effingham informal settlement are released.
The blaze destroyed 22 shacks on Sunday.
"We are proceeding with all other interventions to assist the other affected families."
Greenwood Park Police have opened an inquest docket.
