David Mahlobo to lead cholera outbreak crisis team
Updated | By Algoa FM
The Department of Water and Sanitation is sending a high-level delegation to Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, where a cholera outbreak has claimed at least 15 lives.

The department's Andile Tshona says the deputy minister will lead their response to the crisis.
"The Minister of Water and Sanitation Senzo Mchunu has deployed his deputy David Mahlobo to work with the provincial government, the MEC of Health in Gauteng as well as the City of Tshwane Municipality to deal with water quality issues."

Tshona says the City of Tshwane did not act on some of the directives the department issued around the treatment plant over the years.
"That matter is being dealt with legally because it is an issue of wastewater that is not being treated."
