DA welcomes court ruling on SABC COO
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The Democratic Alliance says it is satisfied with the Western Cape High Court ruling that the appointment of SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng was unlawful and irrational.
The opposition party last month took legal action against
Motsoeneng, the SABC and its board chairperson after Motsoeneng was still not
suspended despite a court order to this effect a year ago.
National DA spokesperson Phumzile Van Damme says they welcome the ruling.
''We're analysing the judgement but I can only say that the court has awarded us [fairly]. I've seen on social media that the SABC said they are going to appeal the judgement.
''It's disappointing that once again the SABC is going to use public money to defend Hlaudi Motsoeneng but until those papers are filed in court the judgement stands,'' she said.
