DA welcomes court ruling over eThekwini mayor's remarks
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The DA in eThekwini is celebrating its victory over mayor, Zandile Gumede.
This after the Durban High Court granted an interdict against Gumede yesterday following comments she made ahead of Durban's anti-Zuma march last month.
In the build-up to the protest, which was also staged in other cities across the country, the mayor made utterances on media platforms that anyone who marched against President Jacob Zuma would be arrested.

The opposition party's Zwakele Mncwango has welcomed the ruling.
At the time, the mayor's spokesperson, Mthunzi Gumede argued that the mayor's remarks were taken out of context.
He says the Mayor's Office is looking into the matter.
"The Office of the Mayor is currently conducting an internal investigation on how the matter was handled by our legal services which resulted in the order being finalised without the representation of the City or the Mayor. We have taken a decision to have this high court order rescinded because it was obtained on a falsity," he said.
