The
DA wants cabinet members not to take part in the vote in the motion of no confidence
against them in Parliament later this week.
Party leader John Steenhuisen says he's written to National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, asking her to rule on that matter.

The official opposition wants a manual roll-call voting procedure to be employed.
Steenhuisen says they've asked Mapisa-Nqakula to make a ruling before the end of business on Monday.
"This roll-call system is widely used across the world, including in provincial legislatures such as the Gauteng legislature, on consequential matters."
"We've asked the speaker to rule and confirm both these issues so we have options going forward into Wednesday.”
Meanwhile, the Western Cape High Court has struck off the roll of the African Transformation Movement's urgent bid to compel Parliament to hold the vote of the motion of no confidence in the President by secret ballot.
The court says there's no urgency.
The motion against Ramaphosa will also be debated on Wednesday.
