DA to seek answers from Parliament, ANC on Mbalula's luxury home
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Democratic Alliance
says it wants answers after it emerged that the multimillion-rand home of ANC
secretary-general Fikile Mbalula was allegedly secured with funds from the
National Lottery Commission.

A Ground Up report raised the alarm on the relationship between the commission's then-COO, whose wife is reported to have loaned Mbalula money.
According to the report, the NLC paid some R83 million to her company for work it did in bidding for the Commonwealth Games in Durban.
It's then alleged that R3 million was loaned to Mbalula, who was the Sports Minister at the time. so that he can secure his luxury Bryanston home.

"It also raises questions as to whether it is declared to Parliament and whether he ever paid tax on this benefit as well," says the DA's Shadow Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Dean Macpherson.
"That is why we are writing to Gwede Mantashe, the chairperson of the ANC, to pose these questions to him. We will also exploring what Parliament knew or did not know about this loan to towards Mr Mbalula."
