The Democratic Alliance says it is reviewing
its options after President Cyril Ramaphosa rejected its ultimatum to fire
ministers accused of corruption.

It is after the dismissal of the DA's AndrewWhitfield as the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Competition.
He was axed for going on an unapproved trip toWashington in February.
In response, DA leader John Steenhuisen demanded Ramaphosa fire ANC ministers and deputies ministers implicated in corruption.
DA spokesperson Willie Aucamp said Whitfield’s dismissal sends the wrong message about the Government of National Unity.

"The federal executive of the Democratic Alliance will reconvene. We will look at all the options on the table," said Aucamp.
"We will see whether the president acted with regards to the ultimatum that was set, and the federal executives will then make an informed decision in this regard.
"The president should have acted in good faith.

"He only informed the leader of the DA on Wednesday morning before the cabinet meeting that he is going to dismiss Mr. Whitfield," he said.
On Friday, Ramaphosa said he would not bow down to threats or ultimatums, even from members of his Executive.
