The party's spokesperson for education, Imran Keeka says they were tipped off about pupils receiving the incorrect exam script at Pietermaritzburg's Karina Secondary School, when they sat for English paper 3 on Wednesday morning.

They were reportedly given the Religious Studies paper, which was meant to be written that afternoon.

KZN Education's refuted the claims saying there wasn't an exam leak.

It's said in a statement that human errors - no matter how small they might be - are meant to be rectified quickly.

Keeka says he's unhappy with the response.

He's tabled a motion in the KZN Legislature.

"While I was tabling my motion in this regard to the Legislature yesterday, the MEC was shouting at me from across the benches saying that I am lying when in fact the department's statement confirms that the incident sis indeed take place. So we would rather have Umalusi investigate this matter than the MEC and her department investigating this matter."
