CSA to launch formal inquiries following social justice report
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Cricket South Africa says formal inquiries are being launched into its employees, suppliers and contractors implicated in the Social Justice and Nation Building Report.
The decision was taken during a board meeting held virtually on Saturday.
The conduct of Graeme Smith, the Director of Cricket, and Proteas men's coach Mark Boucher will come under the spotlight.
The report was compiled by advocate Dumisa Ntsebeza after six months of hearings into allegations of discrimination and racism at CSA.
The board issued a statement on Monday saying that the Ombudsman indicated that he was not in a position to make definite findings and recommended another step be taken.
The board then decided to conduct formal inquiries.
They'll be spearheaded by independent legal professionals and will take place early next year.
Smith's lawyer has disputed Ntsebeza's report - which among other things - found that the former skipper's appointment as director of cricket, was irregular.
It also found that Smith and Boucher acted in a prejudicial or discriminatory manner.
The two will remain in their positions and continue to carry out their duties during India's test series tour from Sunday.
