Court hears Zuma's medical parole appeal
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Jacob Zuma's legal team is applying for leave to appeal a high court ruling that ordered the former president to return to prison.

The Gauteng court last week declared the decision to place Zuma on medical parole in September unlawful and set it aside.
The former president was instructed to go back to jail to continue serving his 15-month term for contempt of court.
Zuma is represented by Advocate Dali Mpofu, who says the case cries out for reconsideration from a higher court.
"The law must be applied. What is parole? Parole is a form of correctional community type of service that is why it is clustered even in terms of Section 69 it says national commissioner may grant parole, community service and medical parole all those things are of the same species."
