Court denies bail to Omotoso
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The Port Elizabeth High Court has dismissed the bail application of controversial Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso on Wednesday.

Omotoso, who is facing charges of rape, human trafficking and racketeering, has been in custody since 2017.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Eastern Cape Aneliswa Ngcakani says bail application was denied after his legal team failed to prove exceptional circumstances.
“Judge Phillip Zilwa denied bail today at the Port Elizabeth High Court, citing that there are no new facts that his legal team brought during the bail application."

“There was already a bail application for him and the only reason why the new bail application was considered because his legal team cited that they have new facts to bring to the fore.”
