Cosatu calls for transformation in the Reserve Bank
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini says they want the Reserve Bank to clamp down on the billions or rands that leave the country - which he says belong to the wealthy.
Dlamini says a large chunk of South Africa's wealth is built on the back of the working class but does not benefit workers.
He's been speaking on the side-lines of Cosatu's Durban march against corruption.
"In South Africa every year, more then R70 billion is illicitly driven out of the country and kept somewhere. Whilst people behave as if they love the country, they are investing elsewhere or they don't even have their money circulating in the country. Cosatu is very concerned about that matter and have called for the transformation of the Reserve Bank because money leaves through the banks," he says.
