In April, the North Gauteng High Court ruled that all 783 charges relating to fraud, racketeering and corruption against Zuma should be reinstated.

The court had to consider if the decision in 2009, to drop the charges against the president, was indeed legal.

It was found that the decision to drop charges against Zuma was irrational.

This matter was brought to court by the DA, who wanted then prosecutions boss Mokotedi Mpshe's decision to be reversed.

The opposition party's James Selfe said President Zuma must have his day in court.

"The DA has argued that there are no reasonable prospects of success nor are there any other compelling reasons why the appeal should be heard. The full bench of the North Gauteng High Court fully ventilated the issues and they too came to the determination that an appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) would be unsuccessful," he said.
