Comrades Marathon disqualifies runners over fake info
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Comrades Marathon Association says it will not tolerate any form of cheating.

It has disqualified 25 athletes from taking part in Sunday's race saying they supplied false information during the entry process.
The runners have also been suspended from entering next year's event and the 2025 marathon.
Race director Rowyn James says they're continuing with investigations into other alleged transgressions.

"The rules very clearly state the Comrades Marathon has right to accept or reject any entry. So pre-comrades race day we are able to investigate entrants information and see whether it is correct or not.
“If an athlete cheats on race day we as the event organisers we cannot action it has to be done by race referees that are appointed by KwaZulu-Natal Athletics."
