Colleagues remember late KZN officer

The SAPS top brass says being a police officer is a calling.

Officials made the comment while bidding farewell to popular KZN policeman Malcolm Goodwin yesterday.
He was accidentally shot at a Pietermaritzburg shooting range last week.
Lieutenant-Kernal Mantha Havenga oversees the accident unit under which Goodwin worked.
She says Goodwin's untimely death is a reminder that the men and women in blue put their lives on the line everyday to protect South Africans.
"It's so unreal to everybody. It's something that should not happen but you know what, its like a normal job to everyone but to us it's dangerous.
"You don't do it for the money because we all know it's not about the money. We do it because that is what we love to do," she said.
