Cholera-hit Hammanskraal to receive clean water ‘by September’
Updated | By Bulletin
The Water and Sanitation Department has announced that Hammanskraal residents can expect clean, potable water from their taps by September.

Minister Senzo Mchunu, alongside Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink, visited the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Works to oversee progress.
Residents have relied on tankers since a cholera outbreak while battling water challenges for over two decades.
The cholera outbreak cost the lives of some 40 people.

Mchunu expects the Magalies Water Board to complete the construction of the treatment plant within five months.
"I want to inform you that we will see the first drop of water from this plant in September this year. It is no longer an open-ended project. In the meantime, Tshwane will be running tankers and making pore holes to ensure that people get clean water."
